Sit-in at Lebanese University in Zahle Demands Approval of Tenure File
Faculty and students held a sit-in at the Faculty of Law and Political Science in Zahle to demand the approval of the tenure file for hourly contract professors.

The Faculty of Law and Political Science – Fourth Branch in Qaaqaa, Zahle, witnessed a sit-in today, attended by professors and students, in support of the demand to approve the tenure file for hourly contract professors at the Lebanese University.
During the sit-in, Dr. Mira Moussa, an hourly contract professor at the Faculty of Sciences – Fourth Branch, delivered a speech on behalf of the protesters, emphasizing the need to put an end to postponement and waiting," demanding "the approval of the tenure file in the first session of the Council of Ministers."
Moussa affirmed that "professors are not demanding exceptional privileges, but rather justice after years of teaching, academic work, and service to the Lebanese University," considering that "the continued suspension of the file between promises and delays exacerbates their suffering and affects their job stability."
She called for "unifying the position among tenured and contract professors and adhering to the strike and movements until demands are met," stressing that "the responsibility lies with the state and the government to find a final solution to this file."
Moussa concluded her speech by affirming that "professors will continue their movement until the file is approved," raising the slogan: "Tenure is a right, fairness to the professor is a right, and protecting the Lebanese University is a responsibility," and renewing "adherence to the role of the Lebanese University in protecting national education and ensuring its continuity."
