Following its meeting, the Executive Committee of the Association of Full-Time Professors at the Lebanese University stated that "the continued delay in approving the tenure file for hourly contract professors keeps a wide segment of them in a circle of injustice and job instability, and weakens the ability of the Lebanese University, as the national university, to fulfill its mission in higher education and scientific research."

In a statement, it affirmed that "the tenure file is no longer merely a union demand but has become an urgent national and academic entitlement, a basic and tangible need for the Lebanese University to fill vacancies in its colleges and branches, and a right for colleagues who meet the academic and legal conditions and have spent years serving the university."

While stressing that "the approval of this file must be done exclusively according to criteria of competence, seniority, and the actual needs of the university, with full transparency, away from any random hiring, arbitrariness, or favoritism, and in a manner that safeguards national balance and the pact of coexistence," it called on "the Council of Ministers, which convenes tomorrow Thursday at Baabda Palace, to assume its responsibilities and take practical and immediate steps to approve the tenure file without further postponement, preserving the rights of the university and its contract colleagues."

It noted "keeping its sessions open to follow and monitor all developments related to this file."
