Strong Republic Bloc: Security of Lebanese is a Red Line!
The Strong Republic Bloc meeting condemned delays in referring the Dahr al-Baydar explosives case to the Judicial Council and warned against electricity supply cuts.

The Strong Republic Bloc, comprising its parliamentary and ministerial wings, along with the executive body of the Lebanese Forces Party, held a meeting last evening chaired by party leader Samir Geagea. The attendees discussed various developments, particularly the referral of the Dahr al-Baydar explosives case to the Judicial Council and the electricity file. They concluded with the following positions:
First: The Dahr al-Baydar explosives case contains all elements that make its referral to the Judicial Council an inevitable matter, without ambiguity or room for interpretation. On one hand, we face a massive quantity of explosives; on the other, a banned organization whose immediate prohibition of all security and military activities was declared by the government on March 2, as they were deemed illegal, obligating it to hand over its weapons to the Lebanese state and requesting all military and security agencies to take necessary measures to implement this decision.
Since Hezbollah publicly acknowledged that these explosives belong to them, in blatant defiance of the government's decision, claiming to wait for investigations to conclude before referring the file to the Judicial Council is unjustified, especially as these acts endanger the country and people, threaten national security, violate Lebanese sovereignty, mock the state and its decisions, and further undermine its prestige.
The attendees emphasized that the referral of this case to the Judicial Council must occur without delay, and any postponement raises serious questions about the government's commitment to implementing its decisions and preserving state prestige.
Second: The attendees considered that the government's stalling, particularly by the Ministry of Finance, in paying accumulated dues owed to Electricite du Liban threatens to reduce electricity supply hours at the start of winter, exacerbating the suffering of Lebanese citizens and imposing additional burdens they cannot bear.
They noted that the Energy Minister is doing everything possible to increase supply hours, but achieving this goal remains impossible unless the Ministry of Finance pays the dues owed by the state to Electricite du Liban.
The attendees demanded the government take clear, radical, and immediate measures to pay these dues, warning that any reduction in supply hours due to continued stalling will hold the government directly responsible for its consequences, especially given the difficult living and economic conditions facing the Lebanese.
Third: The attendees stressed that the security of the Lebanese is a red line, and they have suffered enough from the disasters resulting from dragging Lebanon into a destructive war based on false pretexts, without regard for the interests of the state and the Lebanese people.
They also emphasized that ensuring electricity supply is a fundamental right of citizens and a red line that must not be compromised or neglected, and that the government must assume full responsibility, whether in protecting the Lebanese and safeguarding their security, or in providing basic services that guarantee them the minimum requirements for a dignified life.
