Issued by Suleiman Frangieh, head of the Lebanese Forces party, the following statement:

The events of the last two days in the Parliament, the body that truly represents the Lebanese people, have revealed facts and realities that no one can deny or evade.

The truth crystallized during these sessions is that the majority of the Lebanese people rightly believe there is no way out of the current situation, nor an end to the ongoing conflicts, no possibility for any reform, no hope for improvement in infrastructure, water, electricity, or any state service, no natural economic recovery, and no betterment in living conditions and wages—so long as the state fails to address Lebanon’s central crisis: its illegal military and security factions, foremost among them Hezbollah’s.

On the other hand, these events have confirmed that the majority of the Lebanese people support this government, in contrast to a very small minority—indeed, an extremely small one—that caused devastation and corruption across the country unlike anything Lebanon has ever witnessed.

From now on, no one will be able to claim that this government acts without the consent of the Lebanese people or against their will. It has become clear that, through its policies and general direction, it truly reflects their will and aspirations.

May the political opposition forces, which have not yet joined the state’s ranks, take into account the realities revealed over the past two days and act accordingly, so we may spare the Lebanese people further wars, casualties, destruction, economic and social decline, delays, and stagnation—all of it purposeless, serving only Iran’s interests.
