Three women accused of stealing $80,000 from displaced woman
Lebanese Internal Security Forces said three women were arrested after a displaced woman reported the theft of gold jewelry and $5,000 in Ketermaya.

The Lebanese Internal Security Forces’ Public Relations Division said a displaced Lebanese woman reported on 3-5-2026 that two unknown women stole gold jewelry worth about $80,000 and $5,000 in cash from her bag in Ketermaya.
The force said its specialized units immediately began field and intelligence measures to identify the suspects and arrest them. After investigations, the Information Branch identified three women: M. H. H., born in 1995 and described as Syrian-Palestinian; F. J., born in 1973 and listed as of unknown parentage; and H. A., born in 1983 and also listed as of unknown parentage.
On 5-5-2026, after close surveillance, one of the branch’s patrols arrested them in the Sabra area. During questioning, they admitted to carrying out the theft and hiding the stolen items inside the home of one of their relatives.
They also admitted to carrying out several similar thefts in Beirut and Sidon. Legal action was taken against them, and they were handed over to the relevant authority on the instruction of the competent judiciary.
