A protest by truck drivers and vehicle owners blocked the Dahr al-Baidar road near the Falougha junction on Wednesday. The demonstrators voiced anger over what they termed arbitrary prosecutions, daily pressure, and vehicle impoundments targeting truck owners, all against a backdrop of state inaction on the quarry and crusher file.

Participants demanded the immediate release of seized trucks and an end to selective enforcement of the law. They insisted that drivers who hold valid legal documents should not be targeted, and placed responsibility on the state to organize the sector rather than leaving individual drivers to bear the consequences of the prevailing chaos.

The protesters described their action as peaceful and civil, aimed at defending their livelihoods and the dignity of thousands of Lebanese families who depend on the trucking industry as a primary source of income.
