Trump Foresees Major Progress with Lebanon; Aoun Calls for Stability
President Trump expressed optimism about advancing US-Lebanon relations, while President Aoun emphasized the need for Lebanon's stability and security.

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump stated that the United States anticipates achieving "major progress" with Lebanese President Jozef Aoun, expressing "great optimism" regarding Lebanon's future.
Trump added in remarks about Lebanon that "many problems will be resolved," noting that Washington "will assist Lebanon significantly and engage with it appropriately and respectfully."
The US president also mentioned that Washington plans to hold discussions concerning the Lebanese army's control over villages currently vacated by Hezbollah, highlighting that "Israel is in the process of withdrawing from Lebanon and redeploying in other areas."
Meanwhile, Lebanese President Jozef Aoun declared that "the time has come for Lebanon to be stable and secure," extending his gratitude to Trump for what he described as the "historic achievement" of signing the framework agreement.
