US Vice President JD Vance replied to Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea's letter regarding Lebanon's sovereignty, state role, and Christian community challenges.

Samir Geagea, head of the Lebanese Forces party, received a response from US Vice President JD Vance to his letter addressing Lebanon's situation, challenges related to Lebanese sovereignty, the role of the state, and the conditions faced by Christians in Lebanon.
In his reply, Vance expressed appreciation for Geagea's message and emphasized that the United States recognizes President Michel Aoun and the Lebanese government as the sole legitimate authority in Lebanon. He affirmed Washington's intention to cooperate with the Lebanese state to help protect its sovereignty and strengthen its legitimate authority.
The US Vice President also clarified that ongoing communications between the US administration and Iran concerning Lebanon are not aimed at granting Tehran any role in determining Lebanon's future or influencing its decisions. Instead, these talks seek to ensure Iran exerts pressure on Hezbollah to adhere to its commitments and obligations.
Vance highlighted his continuous engagement with relevant US officials on the Lebanese file, reaffirming the American administration's interest in developments in Lebanon and its support for the country's sovereignty and legitimate institutions.
