Widespread Israeli Airstrikes on Southern Lebanon
Intensified Israeli airstrikes hit southern Lebanon, including the Nabatiye region, prompting mass evacuations from Dier al-Zahrani. The military cited Hezbollah's violation of the ceasefire as justification.

Widespread Israeli airstrikes resumed across the Nabatiye district, coinciding with an evacuation warning issued for a building in the town of Dier al-Zahrani under threat, leading to heavy displacement from the town during nighttime hours.
The Israeli army spokesperson, Ila Wawer, stated the evacuation alert followed what she described as a "clear violation of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah," citing the launch of a drone bomb toward Israeli military forces.
In the context of escalating tensions, an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle on a public road in Kfar Rman, resulting in one fatality and two injuries among members of the "Rasal Message Scouts Association" emergency response team.
The strike coincided with a series of attacks overnight targeting towns including Kfar Rman, Nabatiye al-Fuqaha, Jabal al-Rafei, Arab Salim, and an Israeli explosion in Zoutrat al-Sharqiya.
Additionally, airstrikes on Kfar Rman resulted in one child killed and another dying from injuries sustained.
On Sunday, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun called on the United States to "take urgent action" to halt Israeli strikes on the south, condemning the "dangerous escalation," while attacks have already claimed seven lives despite the announced ceasefire with Hezbollah and the overarching framework agreement between the two governments.
Earlier, the Israeli military had issued its first evacuation warning in Lebanon in a month, urging residents of buildings in the town of Arab Salim to evacuate ahead of an attack it described as targeting a Hezbollah facility near the area.
The war in the Middle East has extended into Lebanon since March 2, following a barrage of missiles launched by Hezbollah, Iran’s ally, at Israel in retaliation for the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day of U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28.
Israel has been engaged in confrontation with Hezbollah since 2023, after the group opened a "support front" for Gaza and its ally Hamas following the outbreak of war in the enclave.
According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, Israeli strikes since October 8, 2023, have resulted in more than 8,920 fatalities.
