Jennifer Lopez discussed her reaction to the 1993 romantic thriller True Romance during an interview with Brett Goldstein on his podcast Films to Be Buried With. She described the movie as “arousing” and shared her admiration for its characters.

Jennifer Lopez calls this classic movie ‘arousing’

During the podcast, Lopez responded to a question about a film she found arousing despite uncertainty about whether she should. She selected True Romance, written by Quentin Tarantino, and highlighted the presence of “very seedy characters” in the movie.

Lopez noted, “You have Christian Slater, who works in this record store and has hallucinations of Elvis, who’s played by Val Kilmer.” She also praised Patricia Arquette’s role, describing her as “the hooker with the heart of gold, the sweetest.” Lopez stated, “I would have had sex with any one of them!” and added, “That is the truth. Which says a lot about me, but maybe like the dark side of me. But all of them were so incredibly f–king good in this movie.”

She further complimented Gary Oldman’s portrayal of Drexl Spivey, mentioning “The gold teeth” and “dreads.” Lopez remarked that Arquette’s character Alabama Whitman remains “sexy” even after being beaten and bruised, saying, “You still wanna kinda kiss her on the lips. You know what I mean? It’s crazy, that movie.”

True Romance was directed by Tony Scott and centers on Clarence, who falls in love with a prostitute named Alabama. Clarence confronts her pimp to be with her, ultimately killing the pimp and fleeing with valuable drugs. Although the film received positive reviews, it did not perform well at the box office but later developed a cult following.
