Amid Israeli Alert, US Strike on Iran Expected "Within Days"

The Hebrew newspaper "Maariv" stated that strong indicators suggest the United States will launch a military strike against Iran within days, at a time when the Israeli army is entering a state of maximum alert on all fronts, especially the Lebanese one.

The newspaper reported in its article today, Thursday, that the prevailing assumption indicates that a US military move against Iran could occur within a short timeframe not exceeding a few days.

It noted that the Israeli army is concerned about the possibility of a miscalculation - meaning an error in assessment - which could lead to an escalation of the situation, as it put it.

The Hebrew report considered that following the defeat in the midterm elections against the Democrats, Trump faces a decisive decision to restore his status through an operation against Iran.

The report clarified that control is currently in Trump's hands, who faces enormous pressures, including opposition to his policy from within the White House itself.

It viewed that currently, and following this major electoral failure, knives - and perhaps swords too - are likely to be drawn inside the American Republican Party.

"Maariv" says that Americans currently realize that Iran is in a better position than it was before the war; at the same time, the United States has woken up to a reality where President Trump has become like a "lame duck president."

It considered that "Islamic currents within the American political scene achieved a victory; since a group comprising no fewer than 5 Islamists - led by Abdul El-Sayed - were elected to legislative bodies representing the Democratic Party, and these individuals are expected to bring change to the face of the United States."

According to the report, the question now posed is: "What is Trump's next step? Will he play the role of victim from within the White House, or will he use the two months remaining before the new Congress takes the oath of office to launch a dramatic operation against Iran?"

It notes that currently there are signs that the United States is heading towards war; a third aircraft carrier is moving towards the Persian Gulf region, reconnaissance planes have departed from Texas heading to the region, in addition to cargo and refueling aircraft deployed in the area over the past few days.

The newspaper explains that currently, the Israeli army is officially undergoing a heightened defensive alert; first in air defense, and secondly in the north, with a focus on the Lebanese arena.

On Wednesday, the 36th Division sent a clear message to "Hezbollah" and Iran, when a motorcycle carrying two members of the party approached the Yellow Line.

The Israeli army launched an airstrike using a drone, resulting in their elimination, sending a clear message stating: "Do not get closer, and do not provoke our anger in the Lebanese arena."
