Kadhim Al-Saher to Debut New Egyptian-Dialect Song at Cairo Concert on 18

Iraqi artist Kadhim Al-Saher is preparing for a major public appearance in Egypt, scheduled for Friday, 18 September 2026, at the IVOIRE Theatre in New Cairo. The concert marks his return to live performances in Egypt after his last show there in 2024. It follows the late-August 2026 digital release of his latest album, “Bila Unwan”, which features a range of emotional songs, poetic compositions, and works rooted in Iraqi musical identity.

The Egyptian-dialect song announcement

Egyptian composer Yahya Al-Mougi confirmed a new collaborative project with Al-Saher, posting a photo on social media showing himself alongside Al-Saher and sound engineer Ehab Nabil during a preparation session. In his caption, Al-Mougi wrote: “Yesterday’s meeting during preparations for an Egyptian-dialect song with Al-Saher and sound engineer Ehab Nabil.” Industry reports indicate the track is being readied as one of the highlights of the upcoming Cairo concert.

Al-Saher has previously performed in Egyptian Arabic at various points in his career, though it does not dominate his discography. Neither the title of the new song, its lyricist, nor its official platform release date has been disclosed. What is confirmed is Al-Mougi’s role in musical preparation and Nabil’s involvement in sound engineering.

Concert repertoire and artistic philosophy

At the 18 September concert, Al-Saher is expected to perform a selection of his most renowned pieces alongside selections from “Bila Unwan”. Rehearsals have intensified in the final days before the event. During his stay in Egypt, Al-Saher expressed delight at reconnecting with Egyptian audiences and recalled memories of past summer concerts — including gifts and flowers received from fans — affirming those moments remain vivid in his memory.

Among the standout tracks on “Bila Unwan” are “Ra7t ‘Alayk”, “Mata”, “Jamalak”, “Huwa Anta”, “Illa Ajibak”, “Ahbab”, “Hi Quwwa”, “Washm”, and “Tajahalni”. The album includes contributions from poets and arrangers such as Karim Al-Iraqi, Saad Al-Muslim, Aziz Al-Rassam, and Lamia Abbas Amara.

In interviews conducted in Cairo, Al-Saher discussed his musical approach, stating he is not strongly drawn to highly simplified songs and instead favors compositions that present musical and artistic challenges. This preference explains his longstanding commitment to intricate poetry and complex melodies across much of his work.

Support for Sherine Abdel-Wahab

While in Egypt, Al-Saher issued a message of encouragement to Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel-Wahab, wishing her a strong return to singing and the restoration of her cheerful personality — traits he said he experienced firsthand during their prior joint participation in the television program “The Voice”. He described her as one of the kindest people he has ever known.

Abdel-Wahab responded in press statements, calling Al-Saher one of the most important Arab stars and thanking him for his kind words. She affirmed her desire to resume releasing new songs and performing concerts in the near future.

Next stop: Morocco

Al-Saher’s performance schedule extends beyond Cairo. He is set to hold another concert in Morocco on 26 September 2026. There, he plans to present a blend of classic and recent material, including songs from “Bila Unwan”, continuing his Arab regional tour throughout the current month.
