Kylie Kelce Apologizes to Kate Middleton After Royal Title Blunder
Kylie Kelce apologized to Kate Middleton for using an incorrect royal title on her podcast, acknowledging the mistake after online backlash.

A public apology has been issued by Kylie Kelce to Kate Middleton following criticism over a misused royal title during a recent podcast episode. The host of Not Gonna Lie invited the Princess of Wales to appear on her show but addressed her incorrectly, sparking negative reactions from listeners. Kelce has since corrected the record and acknowledged the error.
The Podcast Invitation and Initial Remarks
During the September 24 broadcast of Not Gonna Lie, Kelce extended an invitation to Middleton to discuss topics such as field hockey and parenting. She stated: “Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, if you ever wanted to come on and chitchat about some field hockey and maybe kids. I don’t know. We got a couple things in common.”
Kelce also noted that Prince William had previously appeared on the New Heights podcast hosted by the Kelce brothers. While the gesture was intended to be welcoming, fans quickly pointed out the inaccuracy in the royal styling used for Middleton.
Addressing the Backlash and Offering Corrections
In the October 1 episode, the podcast host responded to the online criticism. She admitted she did not realize that referring to Catherine as "Princess Kate" or "Princess Catherine" was considered offensive. “I love learning, so I was unaware that calling Princess Catherine, Princess Kate, was offensive,” she said.
The mother of four emphasized her commitment to respecting preferred titles in future interactions. She directly addressed Middleton with a correction: “Princess Catherine or the Princess of Wales, I apologize. I will get that sorted immediately starting now.”
Royal Titles and Formal Designations
William and Kate adopted the titles Prince and Princess of Wales following Charles’s ascension to the throne and Camilla’s designation as Queen. Middleton’s formal title is Catherine, Princess of Wales, though she is commonly referred to as the Princess of Wales (via PEOPLE).
