Sydney Sweeney faced criticism for her Knicks game seating, but Scooter Braun explained the choice was to share the experience with family members.

At the Knicks versus Spurs game held Wednesday at Madison Square Garden, Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun's seating position drew attention online. Unlike other celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Timothee Chalamet who had courtside seats, Sweeney and Braun were seated a few rows back, which surprised many fans.
Following the game, Sydney Sweeney encountered criticism for not occupying front-row seats, leading some to question her celebrity status as she and Braun were seated behind Taylor Swift. The Knicks’ courtside seats typically host celebrities from various fields including sports, music, and entertainment.
Previously, Sweeney had secured a front-row seat during a Knicks-Nets game at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center last year. This year, however, The New York Post commented on her seating arrangement, stating on Instagram that while she headlines movies, she was “not considered front-row worthy for Knicks playoff games.”
The outlet further noted that Sweeney and Braun sat three rows back during the Knicks’ 107-106 victory over the Spurs on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.
In response, Braun defended Sweeney in the comments, explaining, “She surprised me with tickets in the same section with my pops and my brother so I could share it with them.” He added, “Let’s keep things positive and get One more! Greatest game of all time. Can’t stop smiling.”
Many users praised Braun’s reply, with comments such as “A+ response,” “It’s all silly. And her hair looks amazing!” and “classy response!!” appearing online.
This exchange highlighted the supportive nature of Braun and Sweeney’s relationship. The couple was first romantically linked in the summer of 2025, with a source telling PEOPLE that “things are serious” between them that year. They made their relationship official on Instagram in April of this year.
