Thirteen television series have been dropped by Netflix this year, while numerous popular titles secured renewals. The streaming giant also confirmed that six programs will conclude their runs, marking a significant shift in its content strategy for 2026.

Renewal Decisions Announced

On October 2, 2026, Netflix greenlit a second season for A Different World. Felicia Pride, the show’s creator, showrunner, and executive producer, expressed gratitude to Tudum for the audience's support. She stated the team is eager to return to Hillman to continue delivering heartfelt stories that connect with viewers across different generations.

Earlier, on September 24, 2026, the platform announced a surprise renewal for The Beast in Me. This decision ensures the return of Claire Danes as author Aggie Wiggs. Howard Gordon, serving as executive producer, writer, and co-showrunner, will also remain involved with the production.

Series Concluding Their Runs

A Man on the Inside is scheduled to end with its upcoming third season. Although the show received a renewal in February, Netflix confirmed last month that it would not continue beyond Season 3. The announcement date for this finality was recorded as September 23, 2026.

Beyond formal announcements, the streamer has engaged in "quiet cancellations" throughout the year. In these instances, shows are removed from development without any public statement from Netflix. This practice has occurred several times during 2026 alongside the explicit decisions regarding renewals and endings.
