A second installment of the controversial reality program Lock Upp has been officially greenlit by streaming giant Netflix. The announcement confirms that the show’s distinctive confinement format will return, featuring an entirely new roster of participants alongside its established presenting team.

Renewal Details and Host Confirmation

Monika Shergill, Vice President of Content at Netflix India, revealed the decision during the FICCI Frames 2026 event. Alongside the news of the renewal, the platform released the initial promotional poster for the upcoming season.

The accompanying caption on the social media post read: “Laut raha hain Lock Upp. Bhaag kar jaaoge kahaan? ?? Watch Lock Upp Season 2, coming soon, only on Netflix!”

Shergill addressed the status of the presenters directly, stating, “We are not letting our jailors go on leave.” This confirmation ensures that Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan will reprise their roles as hosts for the new cycle.

Developed by Ekta Kapoor, the series isolates celebrities and public figures within a simulated prison environment. Participants live together under strict conditions while engaging in various competitive challenges designed to test their resilience and social dynamics.
