Noah Baumbach’s 2027 Warner Bros. Deal Ends Four-Film Netflix Run

Director Noah Baumbach will begin a new three-year first-look agreement for feature films with Warner Bros. in 2027, according to Variety. The arrangement concludes his prior exclusive deal with Netflix.

The filmmaker’s first project under the Warner Bros. pact will be an untitled film written, directed, and produced by Baumbach. It will be released through Clockwork, the studio’s independent label overseen by Christian Parkes, formerly of NEON.

David Heyman and LuckyChap will serve as producers on the upcoming movie. Sources with direct knowledge of the script confirm it centers on two college students in New York City. The film is slated for a wide theatrical release — Baumbach’s first since entering his Netflix partnership.

Baumbach’s last four films were distributed exclusively by Netflix: The Meyerowitz Stories, Marriage Story, White Noise, and Jay Kelly. All received widespread critical acclaim.
