Pam Bondi to Testify in Epstein Investigation Amid Thyroid Cancer Recovery
Pam Bondi is recovering from thyroid cancer surgery while preparing to testify in the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein investigation and continue her public service roles.

Recently, Pam Bondi underwent surgery for thyroid cancer and is currently in recovery while remaining engaged in public affairs. The former U.S. attorney general disclosed her diagnosis and treatment status as she prepares to participate in the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.
Bondi revealed to CNN that she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after stepping down from the Department of Justice in April. She confirmed having surgery several weeks ago and is continuing treatment while recuperating.
“I’m doing well,” Bondi stated in the interview, providing an update after her diagnosis became public knowledge. Her health situation had been kept mostly private until recent media reports brought it to light.
Conservative commentator Katie Miller commended Bondi on social media, noting that she had been “quietly kicking cancer’s a**” during recent weeks.
This health challenge coincides with a significant period of change for Bondi. President Donald Trump removed her from the attorney general post in early April, with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche assuming the role in an acting capacity. No permanent successor has been announced.
Bondi’s departure followed months of criticism over the Justice Department’s management of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. The 2019 federal sex-trafficking case involving Epstein continues to attract public and political attention. Additionally, her term saw scrutiny over personnel shifts within the department and probes involving some of Trump’s political adversaries.
Despite her health issues and exit from the Justice Department, Bondi remains active in government work. She was appointed to the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, a White House panel advising on emerging technologies and artificial intelligence.
Axios reports that Bondi will assist in coordinating discussions between administration officials and technology industry leaders as the government advances AI policy development.
Vice President JD Vance expressed support for Bondi’s ongoing role, telling CBS News that she remains “an enormously valuable asset” to the administration and will continue contributing to key policy efforts.
