Rare Car Show Draws Crowds in Russia's Far East City of Vladivostok

Vladivostok, in eastern Russia, played host to the "Gaijin Show" — an exhibition of rare automobiles held across three floors of a city parking garage on May 16 and 17, 2026. The event featured 160 vehicles, the vast majority of which are seldom seen on public roads.

Most of the cars on display were classic Japanese models, cherished and carefully maintained by their owners. The exhibition was divided into several thematic sections, guiding visitors through automotive history — from a 1920s American Durant once driven by Al Capone, to meticulously restored coupes and sports cars from the late 20th century.

Among the standout exhibits were a white 1974 Toyota Corona Mark II coupe and a 1967 Ford Mustang, both drawn from the collection of a local vintage car museum. Also on show was the only Datsun 1200 in Russia, alongside the first Nissan Sunny Truck — a full-cab pickup — as well as classic Asian models such as the Nissan Skyline.
