Kim Jong Un vows to turn border with South Korea into an impregnable fortress
North Korean state media reports that leader Kim Jong Un has announced plans to transform the border with South Korea into a formidable stronghold for deterrence and conflict containment.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has declared his intention to turn the country's border with South Korea into an impenetrable fortress, according to the North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). The announcement came during a meeting with commanders of army corps and brigades, the agency reported.
KCNA quoted Kim as specifically addressing the ruling Workers' Party's territorial defense policy, which aims to bolster frontline units guarding the southern boundary. "The goal is to transform the border line into an invulnerable stronghold," the agency stated, relaying the leader's remarks.
Kim also signaled his readiness to restructure military units and enhance both the technical and military capabilities of forces stationed along the border with South Korea, KCNA added. The move underscores Pyongyang's continued focus on fortifying its southern frontier amid persistent tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
