Starbucks to Cut 300 Corporate Jobs and Close Underperforming US Stores
Starbucks announced it will lay off about 300 corporate employees and close several underperforming stores in the United States, excluding baristas from the cuts.

Roughly 300 corporate office workers in the United States are set to lose their jobs at Starbucks, as the coffee giant also moves to shutter a number of its weaker-performing locations. The company confirmed the measures on Friday, specifying that employees working in its cafes are not affected by the layoffs.
The job cuts target administrative support roles, including those in marketing, human resources, and supply chain management, as part of a broader restructuring effort aimed at improving efficiency. Starbucks also stated that its international employees will not be impacted for now, though a review of its administrative structure outside the United States remains ongoing.
Store Closures and a New Opening
Underperforming or low-traffic branches in cities such as Atlanta, Dallas, and Chicago are among those slated for closure, along with locations in other metropolitan areas. Conversely, the Seattle-headquartered company is moving forward with plans to open a new branch in Nashville, Tennessee, a project expected to generate up to 2,000 jobs over the next five years.
