Donald Trump was mocked online after a video showed him seemingly dozing during a White House briefing on coal policy.

A video circulated showing President Donald Trump apparently nodding off during a recent Oval Office announcement about Beautiful, Clean Coal, prompting widespread online mockery. In the footage, Trump is seen reclining in a chair with his eyes closed briefly, surrounded by Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, and EPA administrator Lee Zeldin.
Following the release of the clip, users on X (formerly Twitter) responded with a series of nicknames targeting the president. One user referenced Trump’s previous nickname for Joe Biden, writing, “He called Biden ‘Sleeping Joe’. Now we have ‘Dozing Donnie’? Interesting times.” Others labeled him “Sleepy Donald” and “Drowzy Donald.”
Another commentator echoed the “Sleepy Donald” nickname, noting that the president, approaching 80 years old, seemed increasingly unable to maintain focus even during televised events. A separate user expressed uncertainty over whether to call him “Sleepy” or “Dopey.”
Trump’s recent public appearances have sparked health-related discussions among observers. Despite these concerns, the president has asserted that he received a clean bill of health during his medical examination at Walter Reed in May.
Addressing the latest incident, spokesperson Davis Ingle told the Daily Beast that Trump “is the sharpest, most accessible, and energetic president in American history.” He added, “President Trump is working around the clock to make our country greater than ever before.”
