Montel McKenzie secured the Baller League UK championship with Prime FC after a decisive 5-2 win over NDL FC at The O2 Arena, marking a significant triumph in the six-a-side competition.

During the celebrations, McKenzie shared a heartfelt kiss with Alisha Lehmann on the pitch, a moment captured by the official Baller League UK Instagram account. Lehmann, who has previously managed in the tournament, was present to support McKenzie despite facing recent setbacks in her football career.

McKenzie's Journey and Relationship with Lehmann

McKenzie, who captains the team alongside YouTube personality KSI, has encountered obstacles in traditional football circles due to his reality TV background. The Folkestone Invicta defender noted that his public profile hindered his progression within the English football pyramid. Nevertheless, winning the Baller League UK title demonstrates his commitment to the sport.

Regarding their relationship, McKenzie told the Daily Mail that their romance developed gradually during the season. He explained, "Throughout most of the season, we weren't speaking. It wasn't like the whole season she was my girlfriend. It was more like halfway through toward the end. But definitely once we did start speaking, it made me play a lot better. Knowing that she was on the side, if I made a bad pass, I needed to get back and needed to go score. Naturally, it gives you that push like having a family member or friend watching."

Lehmann's Challenges and Awards Amid Relegation

While McKenzie celebrated his victory, Lehmann experienced a difficult weekend as Leicester City WFC were relegated from the Women's Super League following a 2-1 penalty shootout loss to Charlton Athletic. The Foxes missed four out of five penalties during the shootout, and Lehmann was absent from the matchday squad due to injury.

Despite playing only 502 minutes since joining Leicester in January and being part of every game lost, Lehmann received the Fans' Player and Goal of the Season awards. These accolades were notably influenced by her large Instagram following exceeding 15 million fans.

Prospects for Both Players

After his success in London, McKenzie is expected to pursue opportunities for a permanent contract at a higher level within the football hierarchy. Conversely, Lehmann faces a critical decision regarding her future, needing to choose between staying with Leicester to attempt promotion from the second tier or seeking a transfer to another club.
