A digital petition launched by Real Madrid supporters calling for the departure of French striker Kylian Mbappe has officially entered the Guinness World Records. The online campaign, started on Wednesday, has amassed over 30 million signatures, surpassing the previous record held by a global debt-relief initiative.

According to the petition’s official website, 30,028,420 people have signed the call for Mbappe to leave the Santiago Bernabéu. This figure eclipses the previous record of 24,319,181 signatures, which was set by the "Jubilee 2000" petition—an international movement demanding the cancellation of unsustainable debts owed by the world's poorest countries by the end of the year 2000. That earlier petition drew signatories from 166 nations.

Reasons Behind the Fan Backlash

The fan-driven campaign stems from a series of issues involving the French forward both on and off the pitch. Supporters point to multiple instances of Mbappe traveling during critical periods for the club, even while dealing with injuries. Additionally, reports have emerged of conflicts between Mbappe and teammates as well as coaching staff, including a verbal outburst directed at a member of the technical team during a training session after an offside call was made against him.
