Warhorse Studios’ upcoming project might reach players sooner than anticipated, according to a Reddit user known as bertik11. The insider asserts that the game is currently in testing phases and could ship during the first half of 2027. This timeline contrasts with previous suggestions from the studio, though no official confirmation has been issued regarding these claims.

Project details and potential reveal

The leaked information identifies the working title as Kingdom Come: Salvation, although the name remains unconfirmed. Bertik11 predicts a full announcement within months, possibly coinciding with The Game Awards 2026. Reports indicate the development leverages assets and locations from Kingdom Come II, resulting in a smaller, more compact experience compared to the main series entries.

Narrative elements reportedly center on King Wenceslas’s rescue from Sigismund’s captivity and his restoration to the Bohemian throne. These plot points are also unverified. Additionally, the source mentions potential online features but provides no specific details on their implementation or scope.

Official statements versus leak timelines

Warhorse has previously stated only that a new adventure is planned for its fiscal year spanning April 2027 to March 2028. Communications director Tobias Stolz-Zwilling qualified this by saying "if everything goes right," implying potential delays. The studio has deliberately avoided labeling the title Kingdom Come III.

The insider’s projection aligns with the early portion of the official window rather than exceeding it. Organizational changes at Warhorse support this accelerated pace; founder Daniel Vávra now focuses on the Kingdom Come film adaptation, while Martin Jirsa leads the games division. A spin-off utilizing existing assets would logically require less development time than a full sequel.

Franchise performance and future projects

Kingdom Come II launched in February 2025, following a seven-year gap since the original. The title has surpassed six million sales and continues to attract new audiences. It became available on PS Plus Extra in August, with a Switch 2 Royal Edition scheduled for 2027.

Bertik11 also addressed the Lord of the Rings RPG developed by Warhorse. The insider states the project is exiting pre-production after years of collaboration with Middle-earth Enterprises to ensure canonical accuracy. However, he estimates a five-to-six-year wait before release. Warhorse confirmed the project’s existence but provided no date.

Until Warhorse officially names a release date, planning around a 2027 launch remains speculative. A reveal at The Game Awards in December would significantly bolster the credibility of these leaks.
