Apple plans to release iOS 27 for iPhone devices this fall, with developers and users currently able to test it through the beta version. Alongside the prominent new Siri AI feature, the update includes significant enhancements to several core Apple applications, with Safari—the default web browser on all iPhones—being a key focus.

According to 9to5mac, the iOS 27 update introduces several new features and improvements to Safari that could alter daily smartphone usage habits.

Notify Me Feature for Everyday Users

The "Notify Me" feature is a new addition in iOS 27 that enables Safari to intelligently monitor websites for any changes and notify users immediately. This function requires inputting specific text to define what Safari should track, leveraging Apple Intelligence running in the background.

One practical use case is setting Safari to alert you when a particular product becomes available on an online store if it was previously out of stock. Alternatively, the browser can notify you if a significant portion of a webpage changes. However, users should note that Safari performs these checks only once per day, so it is not designed for instant alerts and should be used for non-urgent monitoring.

Enhanced Safari Performance

Safari will also receive a series of performance upgrades, including improved energy efficiency and faster handling of JavaScript. Animations and website graphics will appear smoother, and page content will load more quickly. These enhancements are part of the overall improvements scheduled for Safari with the iOS 27 release this fall.
