A Korean blogger claims the upcoming iPhone Air 2 will measure 5.2mm thick, reducing the original model's profile by 0.4mm.

Apple’s next ultra-thin smartphone could shave another fraction of a millimeter off its predecessor. According to Korean blogger “yeux1122,” the iPhone Air 2 is expected to have a thickness of approximately 5.2mm. This specification represents a 0.4mm reduction compared to the original iPhone Air released in 2025.

The claimed dimensions would align the device with the unfolded thickness of the iPhone Duo. While a 7% decrease in depth may appear minor on paper, such adjustments significantly impact the tactile experience of a phone designed primarily for slimness. For context, the iPhone 18 Pro measures 8.75mm thick.

Confirmation of these physical specifications remains pending until Apple officially launches the product. The iPhone Air 2 is not anticipated to arrive until early next year. Current projections suggest it will debut alongside the base iPhone 18 model, which was notably absent from this year’s Apple Event, and potentially a budget-oriented iPhone 18e.
Detailed information about the iPhone Air 2 remains limited, though leaker Jon Prosser provided specific insights in a video released in July. Prosser stated that the new device would feature two 48-megapixel cameras: one ultrawide lens and one regular-lens camera. This configuration marks a substantial upgrade from the first-generation iPhone Air, which contained only a single camera module.
To accommodate the additional lens, Apple reportedly plans to redesign the Face ID camera system. Prosser also indicated that the iPhone Air 2 will retain the titanium midframe used in the original model. A lavender color option is expected to replace the current Sky Blue variety.
Power management improvements are also rumored for the next-generation device. Prosser noted that the inclusion of an A20 Pro chip would enhance efficiency, resulting in battery life that is “nothing dramatic, but definitely noticeable.” A separate leak following Prosser’s report suggested the iPhone Air 2 would house a 3,500mAh battery.
This capacity increase constitutes an 11% boost over the original iPhone Air’s 3,149mAh battery. Pricing details remain uncertain, though speculation suggests the device could launch with a $100 higher MSRP than its predecessor, consistent with trends seen across other iPhone models.
