According to an informed source cited by Windows Central, Microsoft has officially stopped manufacturing the Surface Go 4 tablet and the Surface Laptop Go 3 notebook.

The report indicates that Microsoft has no plans to restock or re-release these two models in its official stores, signaling the company's exit from the budget-friendly segment of its computer products.

Currently, Microsoft is focusing on its higher-priced devices, including the Surface Pro series with 12- and 13-inch screens, and the Surface Laptop series available in 13-, 13.8-, and 15-inch sizes. Additionally, a premium model named Surface Laptop Ultra is under development.

Sources revealed that Microsoft had considered launching a Surface Go 5 equipped with an economical Qualcomm processor but canceled the project due to low demand from enterprise and business customers for this type of processor. This presented a significant obstacle since the Surface Go 4 was primarily marketed as a business device.

To address the gap left by discontinuing the budget models, Microsoft recently introduced lower-priced versions of the 12-inch Surface Pro and the 13-inch Surface Laptop. However, these models come with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and are priced starting at $849 and $949, respectively.

Instead of promoting its economical devices, Microsoft has started endorsing the Dell XPS 13 as a competitor to the Apple MacBook Neo. This device offers additional features such as Windows Hello facial recognition, a touchscreen, and a backlit keyboard.

The base specifications of the Dell XPS 13 include an Intel Core i5-320 processor, 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a weight of approximately 1 kilogram.
