WhatsApp is testing voice-enabled stickers and a two-line message composer in its latest Android beta update.

Users of the Android version of WhatsApp may soon be able to attach audio clips to their digital stickers, according to reports on the application's beta features. The messaging platform is currently developing capabilities that allow for up to 10 seconds of sound to be embedded within sticker content.
Digital Trends reported that the new functionality enables users to add personal voice recordings or existing audio files from their devices to photos converted into stickers. This system places a strict limit on the duration of the attached sound, capping it at a maximum of 10 seconds per sticker.
A distinct mechanism applies to animated stickers created from video sources. In these instances, WhatsApp plans to automatically extract and include a five-second segment of the original video’s audio track. Users retain the option to override this default selection by substituting it with their own recorded voice or a different file.
The beta software also reveals changes to the message composition screen. The updated layout separates the text input field onto the top line, while icons for file attachments and other tools move to a bottom row. This two-line arrangement aims to provide a wider area for typing messages compared to the current design.
Another modification under development concerns the visual presentation of personalized stickers. The company is working on an option to remove the external white frame typically surrounding user-created images. This adjustment allows individuals to modify the edge appearance of their custom stickers based on personal preference.
These features remain in the testing phase within the Android beta channel. It has not been confirmed whether the voice sticker capability and the revised composer will be included in the final public release. No timeline has been announced for when these updates might become available to all users.
