France Deploys 70,000 Police and Gendarmes for World Cup Semifinals and July 14 Celebrations
French Minister announces deployment of 70,000 security personnel for World Cup semifinals and Bastille Day events in Paris.

The French Minister stated in an interview with BFM TV that security forces will be deployed both in the morning and evening.
When asked about the scale of the security apparatus in Paris, the minister confirmed that 5,000 police officers and gendarmes will be on duty from 10 a.m. to secure the military parade on the Champs-Élysées for the July 14 celebrations, marking the final such event during President Emmanuel Macron's second term.
The minister also confirmed that the atmosphere during the World Cup quarterfinal match between France and Morocco, which ended 2-0 last Thursday, was generally very good.
However, he noted that some incidents occurred, resulting in the arrest of 89 individuals, and reported the death of a 17-year-old girl in a tragic accident.
The minister emphasized zero tolerance for any disorder on Tuesday.
