Raphinha Trains Separately in Brazil's World Cup Strategy to Manage Workload
Raphinha trained apart from Brazil’s main squad as part of a planned workload management ahead of World Cup matches, with no injury concerns reported.

Raphinha was observed training separately from Brazil’s main squad this week, prompting initial concerns about his fitness.
However, a report from SPORT clarified that this separation is not due to injury but is a deliberate part of a workload management plan designed to preserve player fitness.
The Brazilian winger did not engage in Monday’s training session at Columbia Park in Morristown with the same intensity as his teammates, drawing attention given his key role for both Brazil and Barcelona.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has since reassured that this approach is purely preventive, aiming to maintain the freshness of crucial players throughout the World Cup.
Brazil’s Preventive Training Approach for Key Players
Raphinha was among several players following individualized training routines away from the main group. Alongside him, midfielder Bruno Guimaraes and defender Gabriel Magalhaes also trained separately.
The three players joined the pitch later than the rest and performed lower-intensity exercises intended to minimize physical strain.
This cautious strategy by the technical staff is intended to reduce the risk of fatigue-related issues and ensure that Brazil’s vital players remain fully fit for upcoming matches.
Raphinha’s Demanding Performance Against Morocco
The rationale behind managing Raphinha’s workload is evident when reviewing Brazil’s recent 1-1 draw against Morocco, where the winger exerted maximum effort throughout the match.
Post-match images showed Raphinha collapsing on the pitch, visibly exhausted after a strenuous 90 minutes.
Following the game, the Brazil squad conducted recovery exercises before resuming regular training. Nonetheless, the coaching staff chose to limit Raphinha’s physical demands during Monday’s session.
This measure is understood as a precautionary step rather than a response to any specific injury concern.
