England remains in contention for their second World Cup title after advancing to the quarterfinals by defeating Mexico 3-2, despite playing with fewer players on the field.

Following the match at the Azteca Stadium, U.S. President Donald Trump praised England's captain Harry Kane, calling him a "great player" on social media. Kane scored a penalty in the second half, marking his sixth goal in the tournament and helping England secure the win.

Kane's penalty proved decisive after Jude Bellingham scored two goals within 98 seconds near the end of the first half. Mexico's Julian Quinones reduced the deficit before halftime, and Raul Jimenez converted a penalty in the second half to bring the score to 3-2.

Despite Mexico's efforts, England advanced to face Norway in the quarterfinals. The English side managed to hold their lead even after Gabriel Quansah was sent off in the 54th minute.

Harry Kane, England's all-time top scorer in World Cup history, trails by one goal behind Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi in the race for the Golden Boot.
