A plane carrying 14 Spaniards evacuated from the Hanta-virus-stricken MV Hondius landed at a military base near Madrid on Sunday.

Under tight security, a military aircraft touched down at the Torrejón de Ardoz base near Madrid on Sunday, carrying 14 Spanish nationals evacuated from the MV Hondius cruise ship. The group includes 13 passengers and one crew member from the vessel, which has been hit by an outbreak of Hantavirus.
The evacuees will be transported directly to the Gómez Ulla military hospital in southwestern Madrid, where they will be placed under quarantine and receive necessary medical care, according to health authorities.
The evacuation operation began on Sunday at a port on the island of Tenerife in Spain’s Canary Islands. Spain’s Ministry of Health confirmed that approximately 100 passengers and crew members are being removed from the MV Hondius due to the viral outbreak.
