Australian Soldier Killed in Parachute Training Incident
An Australian soldier died and another was injured during a parachute training exercise at Jervis Bay Airport on Monday evening.

A soldier participating in a parachute training course has died, Australia's Department of Defence confirmed on Tuesday. The incident occurred Monday evening at Jervis Bay Airport, located on the south coast of New South Wales.
A second soldier sustained injuries during the same event, according to the department, which has requested that the families of both soldiers be granted privacy.
This is not the first fatality in recent Australian military parachute training. In March 2024, a 33-year-old soldier was killed during a jump at Royal Australian Air Force Base Richmond, roughly 50 kilometers northwest of Sydney. The armed forces at the time labeled that event a "tragic accident," and all parachute training was temporarily suspended.
