British Authority Reports Attempted Hijacking of Tanker Off Yemen Coast
A tanker reported an attempted hijacking by armed assailants near Yemen's coast, according to the British Maritime Trade Operations.

The British Maritime Trade Operations announced that a tanker reported the approach of a small boat carrying five armed men approximately 50 nautical miles southeast of the Yemeni city of Al-Shihr, in what appeared to be an attempted hijacking.
The authority stated that the armed individuals tried to board the vessel, prompting the tanker to maneuver and change course away from the small boat. It confirmed that both the ship and its crew are safe and that the tanker continued its journey to the next port while authorities are investigating the incident.
International maritime organizations continue to urge vessels passing through the area to exercise caution and to immediately report any suspicious activity amid concerns over an increase in maritime attacks amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
