The UK Maritime Operations Authority reports an investigation into a distress call from a commercial ship regarding an attack by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) stated that authorities are investigating an incident reported in the Strait of Hormuz today, Sunday, after the master of a commercial vessel sent a distress signal indicating another ship was targeted by an unknown projectile, according to Reuters.
On Saturday, Iranian state media quoted the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy as saying four oil tankers suffered explosions and onboard fires while attempting to use what the navy described as unauthorized routes through Hormuz.
On Friday, the British authority reported that a crude oil tanker was struck by an unknown projectile while exiting the strait.
