Khamenei Orders Immediate, Geographically Unrestricted Response to Any Military Threat Against Iran
Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has directed military commanders to respond immediately and effectively to any potential threat without geographic restrictions, citing the principle of 'maximum deterrence.'

Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, issued directives to senior military commanders mandating an immediate and effective response to any potential threat, without being bound by geographical limits, within the framework of what he described as the principle of "maximum deterrence."
Khamenei emphasized during a meeting with top leaders of the armed forces that "smart combat readiness for strong confrontation with enemies constitutes one of the basic requirements for achieving maximum deterrence," directing that any level or type of threats be met with an immediate, impactful response free from geographical constraints.
He affirmed that "if the enemies resume their military attacks, it is the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic and the Iranian people who will determine the timing and conditions for ending those attacks."
Within the scope of these new military directives, Khamenei ordered the updating of Iran's military target bank, enabling various material and non-material assets of American and Israeli entities, which he described as enemies, to fall within the targeting range of the Iranian Armed Forces.
He also stressed the necessity of strengthening the military intelligence system, developing local defense at both the military doctrine and tactics levels, and enhancing defensive and security capabilities using modern technologies. He further called for boosting morale and fighting spirit among military personnel, alongside continuing efforts to meet their livelihood needs and provide necessary support to the armed forces.
Khamenei considered popular support for the armed forces to represent one of the pillars of deterrence against what he described as foreign powers hostile to Iran and its allies domestically.
He stated that the continuous public presence in the streets over the past eight months forms an extension of what Iran calls the "Sacred Defense" during the eight-year-long Iran-Iraq War, noting the role of military and security forces and the "Basij" mobilization force in protecting Iran's territorial integrity and the Islamic system.
He praised what he described as the "smart resilience of the resistance front in different countries," considering that "the unity of fronts is a decisive factor with strategic impact on shaping a new political and security system in West Asia."
He expressed hope that this new system would contribute to strengthening the unity of Muslim peoples and nations, paving the way for what he described as the emergence of a "modern Islamic civilization."
During the meeting, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces General Abdullahi, Army Commander-in-Chief General Hatami, and IRGC Commander-in-Chief General Vahidi presented reports on the level of military readiness along the Gulf coasts, operational areas in the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman, as well as Iran's northwestern and southeastern borders.
Military commanders also briefed Khamenei on reports indicating that the production of certain types of ammunition, reconnaissance, support, and combat weapons had been multiplied several times.
Khamenei expressed satisfaction with the measures taken, asking senior commanders to convey his thanks and appreciation to members of the armed forces, security agencies, the Basij, Ministry of Defense employees, and their families.
