Death of Yemeni Military Commander in Egyptian Hotel; Forensic Medicine Determines Cause

The Yemeni Embassy in Cairo announced on Sunday the death of Colonel Muhammad Ali Mhdi Hadi at one of hotels in the Egyptian city of Aswan, confirming the exclusion of any criminal suspicion in the incident.

The embassy stated in a statement: "Through initial follow-up, the embassy wishes to clarify that there is no criminal suspicion, and we are awaiting forensic medical results to determine the cause of death," noting that an embassy representative is present in Aswan to monitor investigation outcomes.

The embassy extended its deepest condolences to the late commander's family and admirers, affirming ongoing coordination with all relevant authorities in the host country.

Colonel Muhammad Ali Mhdi Hadi Salmen, known as "Socrates," was one of the prominent military figures to emerge in the Yemeni political landscape. He belonged to the southern faction and recently held the position of Commander of the 2nd Support and Reinforcement Brigade.
