President Sisi visited Oman for talks with Sultan Haitham, reaffirming Egypt’s rejection of any threat to Arab security.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi made a multi-hour visit to Oman on Thursday, meeting with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq in Muscat. The trip included an expanded bilateral meeting with delegations from both countries, a private one-on-one session, and a working dinner hosted in Sisi’s honor, according to Egyptian presidential spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy.
During the discussions, Sisi reiterated Egypt’s full support and solidarity with Oman amid current regional developments, stressing Cairo’s commitment to preserving the stability of the sultanate and other Arab nations, as well as their sovereignty, security, and the resources of their peoples. The Egyptian leader firmly rejected any threat to the security and sovereignty of Arab states, describing their safety as an integral part of Egypt’s own national security, and underscoring the shared destiny of the Arab world.
Sultan Haitham, for his part, expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast position and its ongoing support for Arab security and stability, praising Cairo’s active role in mediation efforts across the Middle East, the spokesman added. The sultan also welcomed Sisi’s visit, affirming the deep historical ties between Egypt and Oman and the bonds of brotherhood linking their peoples.
The talks covered regional developments, with both leaders stressing the importance of supporting efforts to resolve the current crisis through negotiations, containing tensions, and avoiding escalation to prevent further instability and severe repercussions that would affect all parties. They also reviewed bilateral cooperation, expressing satisfaction with the advanced level of relations and agreeing to continue joint work to elevate ties further, reflecting the deep fraternal bonds between the two nations.
At the conclusion of the visit, Sultan Haitham bid farewell to the Egyptian president at the Royal Airport in Muscat as Sisi departed for Cairo.
Earlier, the Oman News Agency reported that Sisi and Haitham discussed regional issues and exchanged views on reaching a final agreement to resolve the U.S.-Iranian crisis through understanding, dialogue, and diplomatic channels.
