Eisenkot Pledges to Dismantle Hamas After Election Victory
Former Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot pledged to dismantle Hamas's military and governing power in Gaza following a visit to the Nir Oz kibbutz.

Yesh Atid party leader Gadi Eisenkot pledged to dismantle Hamas's strength and authority in the Gaza Strip, following a visit to the Nir Oz area on the Gaza border.
Eisenkot said: "I commit to dismantling or destroying Hamas's military and governing power. This is a promise I will keep, and I am convinced that we will end this night with change and a new spirit for the State of Israel."
He added: "It will constitute a correction for the three years we have endured since the day of the October 7 attack."
The failure to thwart the October 7 attack launched by Hamas against Israel, which triggered the war in Gaza, threatens Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's chances of winning the Knesset elections that began today, Tuesday, among other issues.
This issue gained further momentum after a stream of information revealed by Israeli and international media regarding warnings received by Netanyahu and Israel about the attack, but Netanyahu ignored them based on his assessment that he could manage the relationship with the Hamas movement in Gaza without sliding into a comprehensive confrontation.
Eisenkot and opposition leaders had pledged to establish an independent investigation committee into the attack, a step that Netanyahu obstructed during his tenure.
