Iranian media reported on Saturday that an explosion was heard in the city of Islamabad Gharb, located in Kermanshah province in western Iran, though the cause and exact location were initially unclear.

Soon after, the Iranian Tasnim news agency cited a local official who stated that the explosion resulted from the detonation of old artillery shelling, denying any indications of a security incident or attack.

The official added that the relevant authorities had begun addressing the situation, confirming that the blast was caused by old ammunition. No immediate reports of injuries or material damage were received.
