At least five individuals lost their lives due to a 5.1 magnitude earthquake that struck the Andes region in Peru, according to official sources.
The earthquake, which occurred late Saturday night, caused injuries to 21 people and shook the town of Chungos Bajo, located approximately 300 kilometers east of Lima, the Peruvian Geophysical Institute reported.
The institute indicated that the earthquake's epicenter was at a depth of 24 kilometers.
