Five Drone Strikes Target Iranian Opposition Camp Dikele in Iraqi Kurdistan
Iranian opposition sites in Iraqi Kurdistan's Dikele camp were hit by five drone strikes and missile attacks early Thursday, causing material damage but no casualties.
Early Thursday, multiple airstrikes struck locations linked to Iranian opposition groups in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, involving drone and missile attacks across various areas in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah.
Shafaq News reported that a drone attack targeted the Dikele camp, affiliated with the Iranian Kurdistan Democratic Party, near the Erbil governorate border.
Kareem Borouzi, a leader in the Iranian Kurdistan Democratic Party, stated that a drone struck the party’s camp north of Erbil. He added that the drone crashed inside the Dikele camp, resulting in material damage but no human injuries.
According to a security source cited by the agency, the assault was carried out using five Hadid-type drones, all of which fell in the outer vicinity of the targeted headquarters and warehouses.
Al-Sumaria TV quoted a security official confirming that the Iranian opposition headquarters was targeted by a drone strike.
The Iranian news agency Akhbar Al-Ajila reported that the Revolutionary Guard launched missile and drone attacks against the bases of Iranian Kurdish separatists inside the Kurdistan Region. Local sources mentioned a drone crashed in a border area under Erbil’s jurisdiction, igniting fires in nearby grasslands and forests.
The Dikele area, also known as Dikeh, serves as a strategic checkpoint located along the administrative boundary between Erbil and Sulaymaniyah provinces in Iraqi Kurdistan.
