Greek Authorities Uncover Suspected Hamas-Linked Terror Cell

Greek authorities announced on Sunday the discovery of a suspected terrorist cell believed to have connections with the Hamas movement.

According to a statement from the Greek police, investigations led to the arrest of a 37-year-old man of Palestinian origin on the island of Crete. He faces accusations of planning to carry out attacks.

The suspect is thought to be connected to two Palestinians recently detained in Cyprus. Police indicated that all three individuals reportedly received training in explosives use.

Reports suggest the suspect arrived in Greece about a year ago and was granted asylum. Following indications of possible affiliation with Hamas, the individual was monitored for several days before his arrest.
