IMF and World Bank Offer Aid to Venezuela After Devastating Earthquakes
The IMF and World Bank have proposed assistance and credit to support Venezuela's reconstruction efforts following two destructive earthquakes.

Delsy Rodríguez, acting president of Venezuela, announced during a press conference on Thursday that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank have offered assistance and credit to aid the country's reconstruction efforts after two earthquakes caused widespread destruction in several regions.
Rodríguez added that Venezuela is working on establishing a $200 million reconstruction fund in collaboration with the IMF. This fund will be allocated to contractors tasked with rebuilding homes that were destroyed.
Last week, Venezuela experienced two devastating earthquakes that resulted in 2,595 fatalities, according to the latest figures provided by Rodríguez.
Earlier, residents in some of the hardest-hit towns expressed growing frustration across the country due to a shortage of aid and the absence of a coordinated government response in the affected areas.
