Israeli defense officials have indicated that Iran is currently hesitant to launch attacks on Israel’s home front, despite the renewed military tensions between Tehran and Washington following a ceasefire.

According to Israeli military sources cited by the Hebrew site "Walla," Tehran’s reluctance stems from its understanding that any missile attack would cause significant damage to Iran’s national infrastructure and targeted disruptions, making it difficult for the United States to restrain an Israeli response.

Israeli security assessments note that recent U.S. military strikes inside Iran and the sharp statements from senior American officials in recent days have not exerted substantial pressure on the top Iranian leadership, particularly the commanders of the Revolutionary Guard.

Israel views these actions as having failed to produce any tangible change in the stance of Iran’s decision-makers thus far.

Meanwhile, the Israeli security establishment is struggling to interpret the recent U.S. military reinforcement in Israel, including the deployment of additional fuel tankers.

Israeli sources question whether this buildup is intended to prepare for a large-scale attack on Iran or if it serves as a political and media maneuver aimed at pressuring Tehran to resume nuclear negotiations and discussions over the Strait of Hormuz from a position more favorable to the U.S.

"Everything could ignite within minutes," an Israeli security source told "Walla." "One thing is clear: the Americans are also reinforcing their forces in Israel and preparing for a wide-ranging attack on Iran."

Since the ceasefire announcement between the United States and Iran on June 24, following the last military confrontation, unofficial understandings have failed to contain tensions between the two sides.

Signs of escalation have resurfaced with the exchange of political and military threats, increased U.S. military presence in the region, and ongoing economic and diplomatic pressures on Tehran.

In response, Iran has intensified its deterrent messaging, affirming its retention of missile capabilities and readiness to respond to any new attack, while reorganizing its military priorities after the strikes on its facilities and military leaders.

Israeli warnings about the possibility of renewed conflict have grown amid concerns that any miscalculation could collapse the fragile ceasefire.

Washington remains committed to preventing Iran from regaining its strategic nuclear and military capabilities, while Tehran seeks to establish a new deterrence balance to prevent future targeting.
