On Monday, Iran declared a temporary cessation of firing towards Israel, while cautioning that it would respond more forcefully if Israeli airstrikes persist in southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut. This announcement coincides with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convening a security meeting to decide on further escalation.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps stated in a communiqué that "any continuation of Israeli attacks on Lebanon will be met with harsher and stronger measures," indicating the possibility of renewed military escalation should Israeli operations in the area continue.

Shortly after this statement, Lebanese media reported Israeli air raids near the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, accompanied by sirens sounding in northern Israeli areas including Kiryat Shmona, following rocket launches.

Conversely, an Israeli source reported that the Israeli military has halted its operations inside Iran but emphasized that Israel "will not accept the equation that Tehran is attempting to impose," which links attacks in Lebanon with any future Israeli responses, according to Haaretz newspaper.

Another Israeli official indicated that assessments in Tel Aviv suggest the current escalation is nearing its end, amid diplomatic efforts led by the United States to contain the confrontation. The official added that Prime Minister Netanyahu will hold a government meeting to discuss upcoming steps.

Israeli officials also noted that any potential ceasefire will remain fragile, warning that any escalation by Hezbollah could reignite the conflict, while military preparations continue in case the fighting expands.

The Israeli military confirmed its readiness for a confrontation that could last days or longer, maintaining coordination with the United States. Military officials did not rule out the possibility of the conflict widening if Hezbollah directly joins the fighting.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that efforts are ongoing to achieve a ceasefire between the parties, calling for an "immediate cessation of fire."

Simultaneously, Prime Minister Netanyahu is scheduled to hold high-level security consultations in the coming hours to review developments concerning Iran and Lebanon, with Israeli assessments viewing the current phase as potentially pivotal in the course of the confrontation, according to the newspaper.

These consultations occur amid Israeli political and security sources affirming Tel Aviv's rejection of the equation Tehran seeks to impose, which ties the cessation or resumption of Israeli operations in Lebanon—particularly in the south and Beirut's southern suburbs—to any military action against Israel.

According to Israeli sources, this linkage proposed by Tehran will not be accepted. They indicated that Israel will continue its policy of responding based on its national security considerations, without adhering to regional equations that connect different fronts.
