The Public Relations Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Navy announced on Saturday evening that a fire broke out on an oil tanker while sailing in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement, the army described the tanker as "violating," confirming that the cause of the fire was its collision with naval mines while navigating in a prohibited and unsafe area east of the Strait of Hormuz, despite warnings, according to their wording.

The statement said that Iran's policy in managing the Strait of Hormuz is "unchangeable," in response to what it called false claims by US President Donald Trump.

The Navy called on all vessels, especially oil tankers and commercial ships, to adhere to maritime warnings and prohibited zones, and to avoid entering unsafe areas or disabling identification and tracking systems.

The statement did not mention the name or nationality of the tanker, nor did it provide details about the extent of damage or any injuries.
