Iranian media quoted the Revolutionary Guards as saying in a statement on Tuesday that two "violating" supertankers were targeted and disabled in the Strait of Hormuz, after they ignored warnings, shut down navigation systems, and attempted to pass through a "mined route."

The Revolutionary Guards mentioned in their statement to Iranian media that the United States "incites ships to use an illegal route," and that cooperation with the "aggressor enemy" will lead to damage and delay in reopening the strait, as well as a global energy crisis.

The US Central Command CENTCOM announced that it began, at 4:45 PM Eastern Time, implementing the third consecutive night of strikes against Iran, at the direction of President Donald Trump.

The Central Command said these strikes will continue to impose a "heavy cost" on Iranian forces and weaken their ability to attack civilians and commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
