Iran's navy has seized the oil tanker 'Ocean Koi' in a special operation by marine commando units, state media reported Friday.

Iranian naval forces have detained the oil tanker "Ocean Koi" during a special operation carried out by marine commando units, the country's army announced. According to Iranian state media reports on Friday, the official narrative states the vessel was attempting to "disrupt Iran's oil exports and national interests," prompting the navy to execute the seizure.
The operation was conducted by special naval forces belonging to the Iranian army, though authorities have not disclosed the location of the detention or provided additional details about the tanker or its crew.
In a related development, the Iranian army's naval forces issued a statement confirming that an attack targeting American destroyers late Thursday evening, as they exited the Strait of Hormuz, was carried out using missiles and drones belonging to the Iranian military. The statement specified that Iranian naval forces employed "various types of missiles, combat drones, and rocket launchers" to target the US vessels, accusing them of violating a ceasefire and attacking Iranian oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz and within Iran's territorial waters.
The statement added that the operation was a response to what it described as "American aggression" against Iranian ships in the region. In contrast, US officials, including President Donald Trump, have stated that the attack also involved the use of small, fast boats—a combat method often associated with the tactics of Iran's Revolutionary Guard naval forces, according to media reports.
